 A beautiful National Park. A great destination during the month of July is the MACHALILLA NATIONAL PARK that holds various attractions: Isla de la Plata off the coast of Puerto López, Los Frailes Beach, the Archeological Site of AguaBlanca, Salango, and the Beaches of Puerto Rico and Puerto Cayo.
"Machalilla" takes its name from one of the precolumbian cultures that inhabited this area. The Valdivia, Chorrera and Manteña Cultures also inhabited this land of a template climate and extraordinary landscape where arqueological remains are still found within the park, and can be admired in situ especially at Agua Blanca and Salango. The park ocupies 136,000 acres. It has an average temperature of 75 degrees fahrenheit and by the influence of the Humboldt Current in the Pacific conserves the amazing tropical humid and tropical dry forests. Tours

Walk and trek over 3 hours admiring the flora and fauna of this island, which is similar to the Galápagos Islands. There are blue footed boobies, frigates, masked boobies on our trail. After a box lunch, there’s time to snorkel. Humpbacked whales can be seen from middle of June to middle of September. Return to Puerto López and stay overnight at Piedra del Mar Hostal.

 Humpback whales can be seen from the middle of June to the middle of September. We’ll depart by Amazing I yacht for a 1-hour trip to Isla de la Plata (continental Galápagos). On the way we will admire this fabulous mammal in its natural state. The Pacific Ocean along Ecuador’s coast is a place that the Humpback whales travel from Antarctica north to California. Arrive at Isla de la Plata. Walk and trek over 3 hours admiring the flora and fauna of this island, which is similar to the Galapagos Islands. There are blue-footed boobies, frigates, masked boobies, will be for sure on our trail. Box lunch and time to snorkel in this Island. Return to Puerto López.  Departure from Puerto López. Visit the beach of Los Frailes where our tour guide will show off this dry forest, which is unique to the Pacific Coast, in a 1 hour walk. Arrive at this beautiful beach. Time to go snorkelling, and then take a short walk to visit La Playita and Tortuga beach. Return to Puerto López
