EAg 509 Isla de la Plata Departure by Amazing I yacht, after a 1 hour trip we arrive at Isla de la Plata (a continental Galápagos). Walk and trek over 3 hours admiring the flora and fauna of this island, which is similar to the Galápagos Islands. There are blue footed boobies, frigates, masked boobies on our trail. After a box lunch, there’s time to snorkel. Humpbacked whales can be seen from middle of June to middle of September. Return to Puerto López and stay overnight at Piedra del Mar Hostal.

"Machalilla" takes its name from one of the precolumbian cultures that inhabited this area.
